ZOMG! Obama Not Qualified to be President and Needs to be Removed!

Though actually, in the grand scheme of things to get outraged about, I'm having trouble getting outraged about this-- even assuming it is a legitimate issue.

Birth certificate issues are more common than many people realize.

In my own case, I have two birth certificates. The original one lists as my biological father the name of a man who doesn't exist. It also says that my parents were married at the time of my birth. They weren't. It says my father was in the U.S. Navy at the time of my birth. After many, many years of searching for my "real" father, I learned that HE was in the U.S. Army at the time of my birth.

My original birth certificate states that my father was born in Dallas, Texas. My biological father was born elsewhere.

I was left in an orphanage and was in my early 30's whenever I finally learned who my biological father was.

Today, I have a certified birth certificate which gives the name of the man who adopted me (when I was 22) as being my father.

My adoption papers contain the false claim of my parents as having been married at the time of my birth and states they were divorced in Dade County (Miami).
Neither is true.

Someone who wanted to challenge my "true" identity could make a strong case that my adoption was illegal because it was based on facts which are falsely sworn as being truthful. Thus, they could claim that my actual name is not the name I use.

It's possible that whenever my biological mother signed my original birth certificate she was
maybe trying to avoid the stigma of being known as an unwed mother.
It's also possible that she was trying to make it difficult for me to ever find out about my origins -
thus the fake name of the man listed as being my father.

Another possibility in addition to that is the somewhat understandable fact that my parents may have had a brief affair and that she truthfully was simply mistaken about his birthplace and his military service. Or, he could have lied to her about those things.

There could be many other reasons and explanations for these anomalies and I've spent a great deal of time and energy trying to unravel everything about my origins, and I've finally come to the conclusion that maybe the good Lord doesn't want me to know...perhaps as a way of shielding me from what might be even more painful burdens.

My situation is obviously different from that of Obama's, but
I can understand his reluctance to
allow himself to be put in the position of having to answer every
little question about his birth and birth certificate.

He has a certified birth certificate, and no good purpose can be served by catering to the
mean-spirited efforts of right-wingers who are unburdened by any sense of decency.

President-elect Obama has provided a legal birth certificate which shows that he meets the Constitutional birth requirements to be President of the United States and Spooked, you are right to have trouble getting outraged about this whole thing.
