The Faint Glimmer of Hope Here

is that people are realizing more and more what kind of evil shits we have in the CIA and in the military, and that there will be a push for more investigations and more release of information-- which will possibly lead to some justice.

Concerning Jane Mayer on Mark Swanner, Mayer says: "To some extent, Swanner, like the abusive soldiers at Abu Ghraib, was a victim himself of circumstance. Poorly trained, placed in an unclear legal framework, and facign enormous pressure to save American lives, he was only one of many responsible for what happened next." Unlike the abusive soldiers at Abu Ghraib, he was not prosecuted, because, as she quotes military policeman Walter Diaz, "You know the CIA - who's going to go after them."

In these times especially, an effort towards reducing injustice should have a higher priority than justice/revenge. Did scapegoats at Nürnberg change anything for the positive? Reduce war by example? Murdered prisoners can not be reversed. No shortage of prison guard-types waiting in the wings?

"The Democrats’ bill to prevent 1.7 million mortgage foreclosures and, thus, preserve $300 billion in home equity by permitting homeowners to renegotiate their mortgages, was defeated in the Senate, despite the 60-vote majority of the Democrats. The banksters were able to defeat the bill 51 to 45."

That's INJUSTICE!
