"Murdoch Eavesdropping Op Amateurish Next to U.S. and UK Snooping"

Well said, though I tend to think that Murdoch's operation was tied in with the National Security State in some manner, and that they didn't manually hack into thousands of phones. They must have HAD HELP.

The concentration of power and control is accelerated when the propoganda machine is staffed by unthinking automatons who live in fear of their own futures.

The self appointed planetary controllers plan everything down to the nth degree and the only thing that trips them up occasionally is the automaton who regains his/her self control and freewill and blows the whistle on the machinations of the puppetmasters.

The former News of the World employees have been returned to a fearful state following the instant loss of their employment and the whistleblowers have been (and will be) flushed out and terminated as a warning to other employees and to anyone in power who has been paid for their covert support.

Furthermore, remember that out in the real world, the print media is suffering badly as it struggles to compete with on-line and electronic news transmission to personal communication devices. A cynic might be drawn to suggest that the instant closure of this particular newspaper conveniently killed two birds with one stone while avoiding protracted redundancy negotiations - or am I sounding like a coincidence theorist?

My suspicion is that this has been allowed to happen for some other reason because one would think that the puppetmasters could have 'suicided' troublemakers or otherwise ensured that this stayed hidden from public scrutiny.

What if the unseen motive was to further concentrate control over the number of news outlets or to ensure the uptake of a convenient new big brother software product that will tell you if your cell phone is being hacked - but only if all your calls are routed through "a secure super computer" for instance.

Will we see a newer, better, 'bionic' version of The News of the World rise from the ashes of its predecessor?

Will it be armed with state of the art spying and hacking technologists and the loyal and obedient toadies from the corrupt original?

Will Rupert Murdoch fulfil his desire to own all of SKY?

Time will tell.

good points-- though it should be noted that one Murdoch whistleblower already has been suicided. It's possible the Murdoch empire couldn't really contain this story, and in fact, the scandal has been dribbling out for years. But I've no doubt the PTB will use this to their advantage as you suggest. I'm still curious if the Murdoch hackers had state help.
