The Gay Rights Meme

I have been wondering about why this was such a big deal in the past few years. I have no real problem with homosexuality or gay marriage, but I still have wondered why this was such a big deal lately. I think Paul Watson makes some really good points here, without getting into deeper weird mass psychology or social programming issues:



Bottom line is "The establishment only defends behavioral freedoms that pose no threat to the state." So the media ignores bigger threats to freedom and makes a huge deal about sexual rights.  Also in more economically precarious times, "traditional" sexual norms are loosened. Certainly, poor people are more openly promiscuous, for example.
